India’s precision health-tech startup Sova has introduced a Lactase Enzyme supplement designed to help lactose-intolerant consumers digest dairy products without discomfort. The 3X-potency formulation breaks down lactose—the natural sugar in milk—helping reduce symptoms such as bloating, gas and digestive distress after consuming dairy foods like milk, coffee, ice cream and cheese.

The supplement also contains selected probiotic strains that naturally produce lactose-digesting enzymes in the gut, enhancing digestion and supporting long-term gut balance. The product is available in a mildly flavoured French Vanilla powder format, making it easy to sprinkle on food or consume before meals, and is designed to be taken about 10 minutes before dairy consumption, providing a 45-minute digestion window; an additional sachet may be taken if dairy intake continues beyond this period.

Suitable for men, women and children aged 5 and above, the supplement can be used multiple times a day and contains zero added sugar. The company has priced the product at ₹249 for a pack of 30 sachets, positioning it as an accessible daily solution for millions of Indians who avoid dairy due to lactose intolerance. Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer Max Kushnir said lactose intolerance results from a lack of the lactase enzyme rather than an allergy, while co-founder Tanveer Singh noted that the product aims to help people enjoy dairy without giving up foods they love.
