The Haryana Government has announced five major initiatives aimed at accelerating dairy sector growth, boosting farmer incomes and strengthening women-led dairy entrepreneurship through the cooperative network. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Women Cooperative Multipurpose Agriculture Credit and Service Societies (CMPACS) supplying milk to VITA will receive an incentive of ₹10 per litre, encouraging greater participation of women in dairy farming.
The government will also establish ‘Sanjhi Dairies’ on Panchayat land, providing modern livestock facilities for women-led dairy groups, while the Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (HDDCF) will facilitate concessional-interest loans for SHG members to purchase milch animals. In addition, incentives under the Mukhyamantri Dudh Utpadak Protsahan Yojana have been enhanced, with summer incentives increasing from ₹5 to ₹7 per litre and winter incentives from ₹3 to ₹5 per litre for milk producers supplying to HDDCF.
The initiatives are designed to improve milk production, strengthen the cooperative movement, create sustainable rural livelihoods and position Haryana among India’s leading dairy-producing states by promoting inclusive growth and greater value creation across the dairy value chain. (The Tribune)
