Bihar has set an ambitious target of producing 1 crore litres of milk per day while positioning its flagship dairy brand Sudha as a globally recognized brand, signalling a major push to strengthen the state’s dairy economy. Announcing the initiative, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the government is working to equip livestock farmers with modern technology, scientific training, improved cattle breeds, better animal healthcare and stronger dairy infrastructure to achieve the production milestone.
The strategy aims to boost milk productivity, enhance farmer incomes and expand Bihar’s dairy sector through greater efficiency and value addition. The government also plans to strengthen Sudha’s presence in domestic and international markets, leveraging the cooperative model to build a globally competitive dairy brand.
The initiative reflects Bihar’s long-term vision of transforming dairy into a key driver of rural economic growth while reinforcing India’s leadership in global milk production through increased investment in dairy infrastructure, productivity enhancement and cooperative-led development.
