India’s dairy cooperative giant Amul has been ranked the World’s Strongest Dairy Brand in the latest Brand Finance Food & Drink 2026 study, marking another major global recognition for India’s cooperative dairy model. According to the report, Amul’s brand value increased 22% to USD 5 billion, while its Brand Strength Index (BSI) score reached 93.0 out of 100, earning the brand an AAA+ strength rating.

Amul also secured the second position among the world’s strongest food brands, ranked fourth among the most valuable dairy brands globally, and stood 13th among the world’s most valuable food brands. Notably, Amul was reported as the only Indian brand among the Top 50 global food brands, underlining the international strength of the brand. T

he recognition comes as Amul continues to demonstrate the scalability of India’s farmer-owned cooperative model, combining a broad producer network with strong consumer trust, product diversification and nationwide market reach. The latest ranking highlights that the strength of a dairy brand is not built solely through advertising—it can also be driven by farmer participation, consistent product quality, consumer familiarity and a cooperative structure capable of creating value across the dairy value chain.

For India’s dairy industry, Amul’s global positioning reinforces the potential of the cooperative model to build internationally recognised brands while connecting millions of milk producers to organised markets. (Indian Cooperative)
