China’s Yili Group, Asia’s largest dairy company, has called for the creation of a new global dairy ecosystem centred on innovation, digital intelligence and sustainability, urging greater international collaboration to shape the future of the dairy industry. Speaking at the World Dairy Conference, Yili Chairman and President Pan Gang said that “prosperity is not a solo act, but a symphony,” and invited global dairy stakeholders to work together to create shared value through three interconnected ecosystems focused on innovation, digital transformation and green development.

Yili, which has maintained annual revenues exceeding RMB 100 billion for five consecutive years and ranks among the world’s top five dairy companies, highlighted China’s progress in dairy quality, noting that domestic milk protein and fat indicators now surpass European Union standards. As part of its digital strategy, the company unveiled the Dairy Data Intelligence Hub to address industry-wide data gaps, while its sustainability initiatives include the Net-Zero Carbon Alliance and the Global Low Water Footprint Initiative, involving more than 200 global partners to advance whole-chain emission reduction.

The conference also showcased several industry initiatives, including the launch of the China (Global) Dairy Data Intelligent Hub, the Global Dairy High-Quality Datasets Factory, and the Top 10 Dairy Innovation Achievements of 2026, reinforcing Yili’s ambition to position technology, collaboration and sustainable development at the core of the next phase of global dairy growth. The initiative reflects a broader industry shift toward digitalisation, climate resilience and international partnerships to enhance long-term competitiveness across the global dairy value chain.
