Verka, the flagship brand of Milkfed Punjab, recorded a turnover of ₹551 crore in June 2026, registering a 14.79% year-on-year growth from ₹480 crore in June 2025. The ₹71 crore increase was attributed to higher milk procurement, expanded processing capacity and strong demand for value-added dairy products under Punjab’s cooperative dairy development initiatives.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said milk procurement increased by nearly 2 lakh litres per day during June, representing around 11% growth over the previous year—almost double the national average growth rate of 5–6%. The state government said the performance aligns with its strategy to strengthen cooperative institutions while improving the economic well-being of dairy farmers through better processing capacity, market access and returns to producers.
Verka also reported strong growth across its value-added dairy portfolio, with Table Butter sales rising 94%, UHT Cream 213%, UHT Milk 20%, Ice Cream 22%, Tetra Pack Lassi 30%, Ghee 41%, and Dairy Whitener 58% during the month. The company attributed the performance to a stronger product mix, improved market execution and rising consumer preference for premium dairy products. The Punjab Government said it will continue investing in dairy infrastructure, technology adoption, product innovation, cold-chain expansion and market development to further strengthen Milkfed and Punjab’s cooperative dairy sector.
