Andhra Pradesh-based dairy enterprise Shreeja Mahila Milk Producer Company has emerged as a major driver of rural women’s economic empowerment, helping create nearly 29,000 “Lakhpati Didis” through dairy-based livelihoods and now setting its sights on developing “Crorepati Didis.”

Backed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and operating across several districts, Shreeja has enabled thousands of women from self-help groups to achieve annual incomes exceeding ₹1 lakh through milk production, procurement, and value-added dairy activities. The initiative has significantly expanded women’s participation in the dairy value chain while improving household incomes and financial independence in rural communities.

According to the report, the company is now focused on scaling up dairy entrepreneurship, improving productivity, and increasing market opportunities to help more women move beyond the lakhpati category and build higher-value dairy enterprises. The success of the model highlights the growing role of women-led dairy cooperatives and producer companies in strengthening rural economies, promoting financial inclusion, and supporting sustainable dairy development in India.
