The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of milk and dairy products to India’s defence forces, strengthening a long-standing partnership that supports the nutritional requirements of military personnel across the country.
The renewed arrangement continues NCDFI’s role in coordinating dairy supplies to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) through negotiated contracts, a system that has been in place since 1985 and is supported by more than 110 dairy cooperatives nationwide. NCDFI, with NDDB as its institutional member, facilitates the supply of a wide range of dairy products including fresh milk, butter, cream, paneer, lassi, cheese, ghee, whole milk powder, sweetened condensed milk and tetra-pack milk to defence establishments and other security agencies.
The reaffirmation highlights the strategic role of India’s cooperative dairy network in supporting national food security, ensuring reliable dairy logistics, and creating stable market opportunities for millions of dairy farmers linked to the cooperative sector. (Facebook)
