The Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation has launched a major digital transformation drive, rolling out an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across 17 dairy plants to enhance milk procurement efficiency and reduce storage and transit losses. The initiative is being implemented under the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Enterprise Resource Planning (NDERP) platform, following NDDB’s takeover of federation management.
A key component of the rollout is a newly developed mobile application that digitises procurement at the village level. The app enables milk producers to receive instant SMS alerts with details such as fat percentage and quality parameters, significantly improving transparency and quality monitoring across the supply chain.
The federation, which recorded average daily milk procurement of 11.77 lakh kg and packet milk sales of around 6.63 lakh litres in March 2026, is leveraging digitalisation to strengthen coordination and decision-making at scale. The system is designed to enable real-time monitoring and faster, data-driven decisions across its network of Dugdh Sanghs in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Jabalpur and Sagar.
Beyond procurement, digitisation has already been extended to key operational areas including marketing, inventory, order placement, and finance, signalling a comprehensive shift toward tech-enabled cooperative dairy management aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and farmer integration.
