Kerala’s dairy cooperative Milma has launched four new value-added products as it expands beyond traditional milk and curd offerings and responds to changing consumer preferences. The new range includes Milma Paneer Pops in Peri-Peri and Chettinad flavours, Milma Sweetened Yogurt and Milma Blueberry-Flavoured Yogurt.

The products were launched by Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Bindhu Krishna at an event organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (TRCMPU) at Lulu Mall in Thiruvananthapuram on August 23, 2026. Cine artist Meenakshi Anoop also participated in the launch.

Milma Paneer Pops are made using Milma paneer, a special blend of spices and crispy bread crumbs and are available in Peri-Peri and Chettinad flavours. The frozen ready-to-cook snack can be fried in oil or prepared in an air fryer within minutes and is positioned as a convenient option for evening consumption and social gatherings.

The two yogurt products—Milma Sweetened Yogurt and Milma Blueberry-Flavoured Yogurt—are made from pure milk and set using beneficial probiotic yogurt cultures. They are intended for both children and adults, with yogurt offering probiotics that can support digestion and gut health, along with protein and calcium.

Minister Bindhu Krishna said recent negative reports about Milma were baseless, stating that she had personally verified the matter and found no basis to the rumours. She said Milma products are manufactured under stringent quality-control procedures, with multiple tests conducted to ensure quality, safety and authenticity.

The Minister described dairy farmers as the backbone of Kerala’s economy and said Milma has evolved from a cooperative primarily associated with milk and curd into an organisation offering a diverse range of value-added dairy products developed through scientific research. Milma aims to strengthen its position among India’s leading dairy brands through quality milk and value-added products.

She also recalled that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan had set a target on June 1 of making Kerala self-sufficient in milk production by raising the State’s daily milk output to 1 crore litres. The Minister additionally unveiled the ‘Ona Kazhcha’ product kit and handed it over to C.N. Valsalan Pillai, Chairman of the Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (ERCMPU).

The launch underlines Milma’s continued push into the value-added dairy segment, combining product diversification, scientific research and changing consumer preferences to expand its market presence. (Uni India)
