Findability Sciences is bringing industrial artificial intelligence into dairy processing with the launch of LactaAI, a platform designed to help dairy and whey processing plants turn operational data into real-time decision intelligence. The platform is scheduled to be commercially available in September 2026.
LactaAI is designed to connect data from process operations, laboratories and maintenance systems, helping plant teams understand what is happening, why it is happening and what operational adjustments may be required. The platform is positioned as an intelligence layer that works with existing plant technology rather than requiring replacement of core systems.
AI Targets Dairy Plant Efficiency
According to Findability Sciences, LactaAI is designed to support potential yield improvements of 0.5 to 1.5 percentage points and reduce energy intensity by 5% to 10% across evaporation and drying operations. The company estimates potential annual value of up to ₹28 crore per plant, depending on plant scale and product mix.
The platform brings together two key capabilities. Lacta Insight provides real-time process intelligence across areas such as milk reception, evaporation, drying, packaging and utilities, while Lacta BPC provides a conversational AI layer that can work across enterprise systems including ERP, MES, LIMS and business-intelligence platforms.
Focus Extends to Dairy and Whey Processing
Lacta Insight Prime is designed for fluid milk, cheese, yogurt, butter and cultured dairy operations. Lacta Insight Nexus focuses on advanced whey processing, including WPC, WPI, lactose, permeate and MPC.
The technology is designed to integrate with existing PLC, SCADA, DCS, process historians, MES, ERP, LIMS and BI systems, allowing dairy plants to use existing operational data without replacing their core infrastructure.
From Plant Data to Operational Decisions
The launch reflects a broader move toward Dairy 4.0, where artificial intelligence, connected systems, automation and real-time analytics are increasingly being applied to dairy manufacturing. For processors, the focus is shifting from simply collecting large volumes of plant data to converting that information into faster decisions around yield, energy consumption, quality and production performance.
As dairy processing becomes increasingly data-intensive, technologies such as LactaAI could become part of the industry’s broader digital-transformation journey, particularly for plants seeking to improve operational efficiency while working with increasingly complex production and quality data.
