India’s first national “Cow Culture Museum” is set to be established in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on the campus of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University, announced the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.

The project, initiated with state support, aims to showcase the religious, cultural, spiritual and scientific significance of cows and their products, promoting a holistic understanding of bovine heritage and utility.

The museum will feature around 100 digital and physical models of indigenous and endangered cattle breeds, along with exhibitions on milk and dairy products that explain their nutritional and Ayurvedic benefits using modern techniques.

A dairy parlour where visitors can experience pure dairy products is also planned. Officials highlighted that the initiative will help preserve India’s rich cow heritage and could become a landmark for education, culture, and tourism in the Braj region
