Banas Dairy has increased its milk procurement price by ₹15 per kg fat, taking the rate from ₹845 to ₹860 per kg fat with effect from May 27, 2026. The decision was announced to support dairy farmers facing rising cattle feed, fodder and livestock maintenance costs. According to Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhary, the revised procurement price is expected to benefit nearly 4.5 lakh cattle breeders associated with the cooperative. The dairy currently receives an additional 70 lakh litres of milk daily, reflecting continued growth in milk production and farmer participation across its procurement network. As Asia’s largest dairy cooperative, Banas Dairy said the price increase aims to strengthen farmer incomes and ensure sustainable milk production amid increasing input cost pressures. Industry observers note that the move aligns with a broader trend across India’s dairy sector, where cooperatives are raising procurement prices to retain milk supplies and support dairy producers while balancing rising operational expenses.
