Global packaging leader Amcor has introduced a redesigned UniPak solution for the dairy sector, focusing on lightweighting, sustainability, and operational efficiency. The upgraded 1 kg UniPak container and lid have a combined weight of 31.6g, making it more material-efficient than previous versions while maintaining strength, durability, and line compatibility.
The innovation is expected to deliver up to 9% reduction in carbon emissions, driven by lower material usage at scale, while the pack is made entirely from polypropylene, making it recycle-ready in markets with appropriate infrastructure.
The design retains robustness for supply chain protection, features a compression-moulded liquid-tight lid with strong top-load performance, and includes improved tamper-evidence for enhanced product security.
Beyond sustainability, the UniPak solution supports supply chain and branding efficiencies, offering compatibility with in-mould labelling, multiple shapes and sizes, and shared lid diameters to simplify inventory management. Additionally, optimized pallet utilization and a protective collar improve logistics and product stability.
The launch reflects a broader industry shift toward lighter, smarter, and recyclable dairy packaging, enabling brands to meet sustainability targets without compromising performance or consumer convenience.
