Nearly 7,600 kg of synthetic paneer was seized during an eight-hour overnight enforcement operation at four paneer-making units in Nuh, Haryana, with raids conducted from 9 p.m. on September 10 to 5 a.m. on September 11. The joint task force included the Punahana SDM, duty magistrate, DSP, Haryana State Pollution Control Board and Food & Drug Administration teams. Authorities found the paneer stored in unhygienic conditions and also seized milk powder, industrial-grade bleaching agents, soybean, fabric whitener, refined palm oil and white poster colour, which officials said were allegedly used in producing adulterated paneer intended for supply across Delhi-NCR.
The entire seized batch was destroyed on the spot, while four product samples were sent for laboratory analysis and a complaint was submitted to police. Nuh SP Arpit Jain said an FIR would be registered, while the district administration reiterated its zero-tolerance approach to analogue paneer; Haryana had also imposed a one-year statewide prohibition on non-dairy paneer last month, including its preparation using milk powder or vegetable oil.
