The Kerala government has ordered a departmental investigation into alleged irregularities at Milma, including the supply of ghee to the Sabarimala temple, expanding scrutiny beyond the vigilance inquiry already underway. Announcing the decision, Dairy Development Minister Bindu Krishna said a broader departmental probe is necessary to determine the full extent of the alleged corruption within the state dairy cooperative.
The investigation will examine issues linked to the Sabarimala ghee supply as well as other reported operational lapses at Milma. The move follows earlier allegations that ghee supplied under the Milma–Travancore Devaswom Board arrangement may have been diverted and replaced with lower-quality products before reaching the temple, prompting multiple investigations.
