Uttar Pradesh’s Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana is emerging as a key initiative to strengthen small-scale commercial dairy farming by promoting entrepreneurship, increasing farmers’ incomes and generating rural employment.

Launched under the Nand Baba Dugdh Mission, the scheme complements the larger Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana and reflects the state’s continued focus on cow protection, fodder development and dairy sector expansion since 2017. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries can establish a 10-indigenous-cow dairy unit with a project cost of ₹23.60 lakh, receiving a government subsidy of up to ₹11.80 lakh (50%), while contributing 15% themselves and financing the remaining 35% through a bank loan.

The programme aims to improve rural livelihoods, encourage scientific dairy farming and enhance milk production by supporting small dairy entrepreneurs across the state. According to the report, the initiative has already shown positive results by creating new employment opportunities and strengthening the rural economy, positioning dairy farming as a sustainable income source for small and marginal farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
