Pune-based Orah Nutrichem has secured a patent for its milk-soluble Vitamin E innovation aimed at improving milk stability and shelf life, marking a significant development for the dairy and food processing industry.

The company’s research focuses on using tocotrienol-based natural Vitamin E solutions to enhance oxidation control and maintain quality in milk and dairy products. Founder Rohit Dubepatil said the company has been working on solutions for improving the longevity and shelf life of raw and processed milk, with successful trials now moving towards commercialization.

Orah Nutrichem, established in 2016, is India’s leading manufacturer of tocotrienol-based natural Vitamin E and claims to be among the world’s largest producers in this segment. The company’s Vitamin E solutions are designed as clean-label alternatives to synthetic antioxidants such as BHA and BHT and are already being used across cosmetic, nutraceutical and food applications.

Orah’s innovation pipeline also includes Orah Nutra E for food preservation and other antioxidant solutions focused on extending shelf life and improving product stability. The company said its research-backed formulations are part of a broader push to position India as a global hub for antioxidant and ingredient innovation in dairy, food and nutrition sectors.
