Namsai Fresh Cow Ghee, a natural dairy product sourced from the hills of Namsai district, has gained national recognition under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme.

This initiative, part of the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, promotes traditional and local products from aspirational districts across India.

Produced by Namsai Dairy Ltd., a Dairy Farmers Producer Organization (FPO) comprising 120 members, Namsai Fresh Cow Ghee and other dairy products like milk, dahi, paneer, cream and sweets reflect the pristine quality and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

The ghee is made from “desi” cattle raised on natural open grazing pastures within community forests, ensuring sustainability and authenticity in dairy farming. Crafted from pure cream without any preservatives or additives, the ghee is produced at the Mini Dairy Plant established in 2022–23 in Deobeel village, of the district. This initiative supports local farmers and contributes to the growth of the rural economy.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein appreciated on his official X handle, and wrote: “Delighted to see Namsai Fresh Cow Ghee gaining national recognition under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme. It is a proud testament to dedication of our dairy farmers and purity of state traditions.”

“Kudos to Namsai Dairy Ltd for championing sustainable local enterprise. Let’s continue to support and celebrate our local treasures,” he added.
