Sahakar Bharati’s Dairy Cell organized a two-day national convention at the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) auditorium in Anand, Gujarat, on May 24 and 25. The event gathered prominent figures from India’s dairy sector, including Gujarat’s Cooperation Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma, Amul Dairy Chairman Vipul Patel, NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah, GCMMF Chairman Shamal Patel, and Sahakar Bharati National General Secretary Deepak Chaurasia.

The convention commenced with insights from Shankar Chaudhary, Chairman of Banas Dairy and Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, who shared experiences in dairy development. Subsequent sessions featured NDDB scientists discussing strategies to enhance milk quality and productivity. Anand Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Kataria presented research on indigenous cattle breeds, followed by a lecture on the benefits of cow-based farming.

On the second day, Amul Dairy Managing Director Jayen Mehta discussed Amul’s growth and the cooperative model’s role in supporting farmers. The convention also celebrated successful women in the dairy sector, with participants like Gayatribhen, Mittalben, and Meenaben sharing their journeys. Sahakar Bharati’s National Organizing Secretary Sanjay Pachpor concluded the event, emphasizing the potential of cooperatives in expanding dairy business opportunities through value-added products and community networks.
