K. Venkatrao, Additional Manager of the Animal Husbandry Department, urged dairy farmers to leverage government-provided facilities such as mini-Gokulams and modern equipment to increase milk production.

He was speaking at a veterinary camp at Mulakkayalapalle in the Rajampeta division of Annamayya district on Friday (January 24), as part of a statewide initiative to support livestock farmers.

During the visit, the official inspected the mini-Gokulam and a grass-cutting machine supplied to farmers under government schemes.

Veterinary camps were also held in Gundlur and Mittadapalle, where department staff provided updates on their activities. According to sources, 44 calves, 173 cows as well as a number of buffaloes, sheep and goats were distributed to farmers under government schemes.

Mr. Venkatrao stressed the critical role of the department staff in supporting dairy farmers and instructed them to offer continuous guidance, technical advice and solutions to address the challenges faced by the farmers.

District Veterinary Officer Gunasekhar Pillai, Rajampeta Division Veterinary Deputy Director Y. Vijay Bhaskar Rao and Regional Veterinary Hospital Assistant K. Pratap were among those who participated in the event.

The official said that the veterinary camps aim to promote sustainable livestock practices; ensure animal health and productivity; and contribute to the economic well-being of farmers.
