Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated several initiatives of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) in Bhubaneswar, highlighting the role of dairy cooperatives in strengthening rural livelihoods. The programme was part of a broader event where development projects worth over ₹3,770 crore were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid in Odisha.

During the event, multiple cooperative sector initiatives were launched, including the release of the State Cooperative Policy, the dedication of 1,567 Common Service Centres run by PACS/LAMPS, and the virtual inauguration of infrastructure for 141 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). The programme also included the digital launch of the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) portal of National Cooperative Organics Limited, the launch of “Coop Marque” by National Cooperative Exports Limited, and “Savidya,” an AI-enabled multilingual digital learning platform. In the dairy sector, initiatives linked to OMFED were showcased to strengthen milk procurement and cooperative infrastructure, while registration certificates were distributed to two milk producer cooperative societies.

Grants were also released to beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Yojana, and an MoU was signed with NDDB to upgrade a Training and Demonstration Centre. The event also saw participation from senior leaders including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with the initiatives aimed at expanding dairy cooperatives and boosting rural incomes in the state.
