Heritage Foods Ltd shares jumped 7.86% on Tuesday after the company announced significant price cuts across its dairy portfolio, passing on benefits from the recent GST rate revision.
The company has reduced prices of UHT milk by ₹3 per litre, ghee and butter by ₹50 per litre/kg, cheese by ₹50 per kg, and paneer by ₹25 per kg. Ice cream prices have also been cut by ₹35 for 950 ml packs and ₹20 for 700 ml packs.
Heritage Foods said the move was aimed at making dairy products more affordable and boosting consumption ahead of the festive season. The price cuts will take effect from September 22, coinciding with the implementation of the new GST rates.
Market experts said the announcement could spur higher sales volumes but may also put competitive pressure on other dairy players to follow suit.
Investors reacted positively, pushing the company’s stock sharply higher in Tuesday’s trade.
