Indian dairy equipment, processing, packaging and automation companies are set to gain a structured route into the Russian market following an MoU between ITE Group and NDDB Dairy Services signed at the ITE India Roadshow in Ahmedabad. The partnership will connect Indian suppliers with Russian dairy processors and buyers, with a joint webinar and participation in Dairy Tech 2027 planned as the first steps.
The MoU was signed by ITE Group CEO Dmitry Zavgorodniy and NDDB Dairy Services Managing Director C.P. Devanand, in the presence of NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah. Under the agreement, ITE Group will brief Indian companies on Russian market requirements covering processing and packaging lines, conformity certification, servicing and commercial terms, while NDDB Dairy Services will identify Indian companies and technologies suited to those requirements.
Meenesh Shah said the partnership could widen market opportunities for India’s dairy value chain by extending the cooperative approach to international partnerships. ITE Group’s Zavgorodniy said Russian dairy plants are re-equipping and seeking machinery, packaging and service suppliers, adding that Indian engineering is competitive in these areas but has had limited market presence in Russia.
The initiative could open opportunities for Indian manufacturers across dairy processing equipment, packaging systems and automation, while giving them a clearer understanding of technical and certification requirements before entering the Russian market. Devanand also highlighted the potential for Indian dairy engineering expertise, developed for local conditions, to be adapted for international markets.
The partnership also envisages knowledge exchange: while Indian companies gain access to Russian buyers and market requirements, useful manufacturing technologies and learnings from the Russian market could be brought back to producer-owned Indian dairies. The development marks a step towards expanding India’s dairy value chain beyond dairy products into technology, engineering and processing solutions for global markets.
