India’s food safety regulator, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), has issued notices to Param Dairy Limited and Bikanervala as part of a wider enforcement drive against food business operators for alleged violations related to food safety, labelling, branding, and consumer complaints. Param Dairy was served a notice following allegations of fungal contamination in dairy products, including dahi and rabri supplied through IRCTC catering services. The company has been directed to provide details of the affected products, inventory management practices, corrective actions taken, and preventive measures to avoid recurrence. Bikanervala received a notice over reported hygiene concerns after a consumer complaint alleged that a staff member was consuming food inside a service or kitchen area during operational hours. FSSAI has sought details of the company’s internal investigation, standard operating procedures, and corrective measures. The regulator stated that all concerned food business operators must take immediate corrective action and ensure compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food safety, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance across India’s food sector.
