mooMark Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stellapps Technologies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Akiba Farm Holdings to develop premium gelato products and strengthen dairy innovation collaboration between India and Japan. The partnership combines mooMark’s technology-driven and fully traceable dairy supply chain network, spanning more than 42,000 villages across 17 Indian states and covering 3.5 million registered farmers, with Akiba Farm Holdings’ nearly 140 years of artisanal dairy expertise.
Under the agreement, the companies will establish a dedicated innovation lab for premium dairy product development inspired by the Japanese philosophy of “Takumi,” focused on mastery and continuous refinement. The collaboration will also introduce Japanese Total Mixed Ration (TMR) feeding protocols aimed at improving cattle nutrition, milk yield and sustainability through pilot trials across mooMark’s smallholder farmer network.
The partnership was facilitated by Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) under its Global South Support Programme. mooMark CEO Ranjith Mukundan said the collaboration reflects the growing global potential of India’s digitised dairy ecosystem, while Akiba Farm Holdings highlighted India’s rapidly expanding premium dairy market and strong value-added dairy opportunities. India currently remains the world’s largest milk producer with annual production exceeding 248 million tonnes.
