Amul Dairy has announced an increase in milk procurement prices for cooperative member milk producers effective June 1, 2026, citing rising input and operational costs in the dairy sector. The procurement price for buffalo milk has been increased by ₹10 per kg fat, taking the rate from ₹865 to ₹875 per kg fat.
With the revision, buffalo milk containing 6% fat will now fetch ₹54.05 per litre compared to ₹53.44 earlier, while 7% fat buffalo milk prices have risen to ₹63.06 per litre from ₹62.34. Amul Dairy also raised cow milk procurement prices from ₹384.10 to ₹388.65 per kg equivalent fat, an increase of ₹4.55 per kg equivalent fat.
As a result, producers supplying cow milk with 3.5% fat content will now receive ₹36.68 per litre, up by ₹0.43, while 4% fat cow milk procurement prices have increased by ₹0.45 per litre to ₹38.68. Amul Dairy chairman Sabhesinh Parmar said rising prices of cattle feed, fuel, packaging film, transportation and other consumables, along with global economic pressures linked to the Middle East conflict, have significantly increased operational costs for the dairy sector.
The dairy also declared a final procurement price of ₹1,035 per kg fat for FY26, which it described as the highest in its history and among the highest in Gujarat and India’s dairy industry. Amul Dairy reported a turnover of ₹15,113 crore in FY26 and has set a target of ₹16,753 crore for the current financial year. The cooperative also highlighted farmer welfare initiatives including subsidised sexed semen at ₹25 per dose and the establishment of Asia’s largest semen laboratory at Oon to improve cattle breeding, milk production and farmer income.
