In a significant push to strengthen cooperative-led dairy development, the Government highlighted that under the Dairy Sahakar Yojana, implemented by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a total financial assistance of ₹765.98 crore has been disbursed between 31 October 2021 and 19 March 2026 to support dairy projects across states. The scheme focuses on creating and modernising dairy infrastructure, including processing, value addition, and marketing, with the core objective of enhancing farmers’ income through cooperative models.
The initiative enables dairy cooperatives, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and multi-state cooperatives to access interest subvention and credit-linked support, thereby improving their operational capacity and competitiveness. By facilitating affordable finance and encouraging entrepreneurship in the dairy sector, the scheme is playing a critical role in strengthening rural livelihoods and expanding the organized dairy network.
Aligned with the broader vision of “Sahakar se Samriddhi,” the programme underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging cooperatives as engines of growth in agriculture and allied sectors, particularly dairy, ensuring inclusive development and sustainable income generation for milk producers nationwide.
