Of particular importance is the coalition’s role in bridging public and private action. By combining CII’s industry reach with EDF’s technical expertise in climate and environmental science, the alliance seeks to accelerate the adoption of best practices tailored to India’s diverse dairy landscapes — from smallholder farms to cooperative and private processing clusters.
Experts welcomed the initiative, noting that structured climate resilience efforts could help reduce sector vulnerability to heat stress, water scarcity and feed variability, all of which are intensifying under climate change.
